Waiakea’s Louie Ondo won Saturday’s Kamehameha-Hawaii Invitational. Ondo has won both of his cross country races two weeks into the season. Ondo finished the boys 3-mile course at Kamehameha-Hawaii in 16 minutes, 46.07 seconds. Hilo’s River Brown was second in 16:58.24 and Konawaena’s Cody Ranfrnaz placed third in 17:00.18. Defending state cross country champion Lisa Tashiro of Kaiser won the season-opening Michael Doran Invitational on Saturday at Kalani. Tashiro finished the girls 3-mile race in 20 minutes, 31.54 seconds. Cassandra Frenzel of Kalaheo was second in 21:43.05 and teammate Emily McLemore was third in 21:54.90.
