Amorozo is 4th Waipahu QB to top 300 yards

Braden Amorozo threw for 316 yards and accounted for two second-half touchdowns to help Waipahu hold off host Nanakuli 20-12 on Friday in the season-opener for both teams. Amorozo completed 22 of 33 passes for the Marauders (1-0). His 3-yard run broke a 6-all tie and Waipahu completed the two-point conversion for a 14-8 lead with 2:30 left in the third quarter. Baldwin leads list of state track qualifiers

Baldwin has seven of the top qualifiers for this week’s Island Movers/HHSAA State Track and Field Championships. Anthony Kahoohanohano-Davis has the top mark in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. Bailey Kaopuiki has the top mark in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. Kaiser girls, Castle boys lead after OIA track trials

Kaiser took an early lead in the girls team standings after Thursday’s trials of the OIA track and field championships. The two-time league champion Cougars scored 18 points after going 1-2 in the high jump at Mililani’s John Kauinana Stadium. Kristen O’Handley won after clearing 5 feet, 2 inches. OIA track and field qualifiers

Trials for the OIA track and field championships begin this afternoon at Mililani. Field events start at 3:45 p.m. and running events begin at 5. There will be two finals held today in the boys vault and girls high jump. Top qualifiers from the trials advance to Saturday afternoon’s finals. The Kaiser girls and Campbell boys have won the last two OIA titles. Kaiser is the defending state champion. Cick here for the list of qualifiers.
