Former Oklahoma and Seattle Seahawks linebacker Brian Bosworth is on the agenda to be a guest speaker at the Hawaii Interscholastic Athletic Directors Association conference at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on Tuesday.
Bosworth, who fans called “The Boz,” was well known for his radical hairstyles and controversial comments about the NCAA. He was a two-time consensus All-American and a two-time Butkus Award winner as the nation’s top linebacker.
He played three seasons in the NFL, but retired due to a shoulder injury.
The conference runs Saturday through Wednesday. Hawaii’s athletic directors meet each year in June to discuss and implement proposed changes in high school athletics and for workshops.
Proposals made and passed by HIADA at the conference do not go into effect unless they are also ratified by the Hawaii High School Athletic Association executive board, which meets on Thursday in Waikoloa.
