Mililani quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who will enter his senior season 2,057 passing yards shy of the state’s all-time career record, announced his college commitment on Twitter today.
Gabriel, who is 6 feet and 185 pounds, chose Army over offers from Air Force, Navy and Hawaii.

Former Waipahu football coach Sean Saturnio is an assistant coach with the Black Knights.
Gabriel is 18-5 as the Trojans’ starter over the last two years and helped lead Mililani to the Division I state title in 2016 as a sophomore.
He also played four games as a freshman after an injury to then-starter McKenzie Milton before injuring his shoulder against Kahuku in the OIA final.
Gabriel is the fourth player from Hawaii to commit to a Division I school in the 2019 class, joining Kahuku linebacker Miki Ah You (Washington), Kaimuki two-way lineman Sama Pa’ama (Washington) and Saint Louis defensive lineman Gino Quinones (Southern California).
Kamehameha alumnus Calen Holt is a senior running back for Army, which will host Hawaii at Michie Stadium in New York on Sept. 15.
Congratulations!!
The Black Knights got a good one.
It takes a dedicated human being to serve in the Military and you will make a great leader not only of your football team but your Soldiers🤙🏽
NOT SURE IF HIS SKILLS (PASSING) IS SUITED FOR ARMY, AS THE ACADMIES PRIMARILY RUN THE TRIPLE OPTION AND THE QB’S TAKE A BEATING.
Congratulations to Dillon and his family. As he said, its been a long journey and there were many to thank. But this is the beginning of a new journey. All the best for success in football and as a soldier.
How many Hawaii players currently play across all the academy’s. Congrats Dillon, as well as the rest of the Hawaii cadets throughout all the academys
Smart move by the kid. Hawaii already have chevan and only one can play. At least at army, when he graduate from the academy
He will be a Sargent.

He won’t be a Sergeant, he will be a Commissioned Officer!

Congratulations Dillon and the Gabriel Ohana! Well deserved young man! It was such a pleasure coaching you back in the day as a Manoa Paniolo! Best of luck to you this season and in the future!
Congrats Dillon! Btw can you tell your receivers to catch the ball! You have all your weapons coming back from last year and after watching you guys play Campbell in a pass league game, the receivers had lots of drop balls. Do you guys have new coaches at receivers? I remember seeing two large men coaching up the receivers but now I see two new receiver coaches. It might be the big problem if they can’t coach. Same goes for the DB’s! Who is coaching these kids. Very different staff it seems like. Rod is taking the program backwards with coaches that can’t coach. But at least they trying!! Anyways good luck this season Dillon to you and the rest of TROJANS and to all the other schools! Going to be a good year with ILH and OIA playing eachother!
This kid is a pure Image of Mckenzie Milton except has a stronger arm. Why didn’t Hawaii offer him when he was younger and had to wait until his senior year? Again, Rolo ignoring the Local kids and waited too long. Dillon is way better than the St. louis kid because he has a quicker release and can read and go through his progression much faster. He’s by far the best quarterback in Hawaii this year and thats why he’s break every record in the book this year. He should be up there with Tua and Milton!
