Pac-12, Big Ten, SEC extend offers in Hawaii

Just how good is the class of 2019 in Hawaii shaping up recruiting wise in football?

Consider this. Kapolei offensive lineman Julius Buelow just picked up offers from Florida and Washington in the last 24 hours. The 6-foot-7, 310-pound Buelow now has 14 offers total, including seven from the Pac-12 (Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Utah, Washington, Washington State).

He is the No. 154 overall prospect in the nation among current high school juniors and the 18th-best offensive tackle prospect according to 247Sports.

And yet, he is listed as the fourth-best prospect out of Hawaii in the 2019 class.

Buelow, Punahou linebacker Maninoa Tufono, Kahuku offensive lineman Enokk Vimahi and Saint Louis defensive tackle Faatui Tuitele continue to see their profiles rise as schools from across the nation continue to make offers to an elite foursome of prospects.

Tuitele, ranked No. 29 overall in the nation, added offers from Penn State and Oregon State on Monday, to increase his total to 27.

Vimahi, regarded as the 12th-best offensive tackle recruit in the country and No. 111 overall, added Washington to his list of offers as well this week.

The Huskies have been busy recruiting in the islands, and aren’t just going after the top rated guys either.

A year after extending a scholarship offer to Pearl City’s Zion Tupuola-Fetui, which started a wave of offers for the now UW signee, the Huskies are back looking for another under-the-radar prospect in Division II.

Washington became the second school to extend a scholarship offer to Kaimuki’s Sama Paama, a 6-foot-5, 330-pound prospect the Huskies project to play at defensive tackle.

Paama’s only other offer is from Hawaii. He is now the 12th junior in the state of Hawaii to hold multiple Division I scholarship offers.
