The high school football season finally come to an end across the country over the weekend. A state championship in Texas was decided and the GEICO State Champions Bowl Series included Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore rolling Bingham (Utah), 41-3.
Bingham had defeated Hawaii runner-up Kahuku, without starting quarterback Sol-Jay Maiava, 17-0 in September.
Saint Louis (10-0) moved up one more spot to finish 15th in the nation in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25. That’s the best finish by a Hawaii high school team since Kahuku finished 12th in 2012.
In the final Top 100 by High School Football America, the Crusaders were No. 61 and the Red Raiders were No. 91.
In that same poll, Saint Louis finished seven spots behind Narbonne (Calif.), which finished its season 12-3 and lost to the Crusaders at Aloha Stadium in September, 56-50.
The Crusaders were unranked in the final USA Today Super 25 Expert Rankings but finished 13th in the USA Today Super 25 Computer Rankings. USA Today’s computer rankings for Hawaii listed a top 10 of Saint Louis, Kahuku, Punahou, Mililani, Kamehameha, Lahainaluna, Waianae, Hilo, Leilehua and Kapolei.
