Saint Louis OL invited to Polynesian Bowl

Offensive lineman Eliki Tanuvasa, the 6-foot-3, 270-pound starting center for the No. 1-ranked Saint Louis Crusaders, has been invited to the 2018 Polynesian Bowl.

Tanuvasa, an honorable mention All-State selection as a junior, is the seventh Crusader selected to the annual high school football all-star game for seniors only, joining quarterback Chevan Cordeiro, receiver Jonah Panoke, long snapper Peyton Yanagi, linebacker Noa Purcell and defensive backs Kama Moore and Isaiah Tufaga.

Tanuvasa is the anchor of an offensive line that has paved the way for the Crusaders to average 318 passing yards and 115 rushing yards per game.

Saint Louis, the defending Division I-Open state champion, has won 13 games in a row dating back to last season.

The 2018 Polynesian Bowl will be played Saturday, Jan. 20 at Aloha Stadium.

Tanuvasa, who holds a scholarship offer from Army, is the 23rd selection from Hawaii. Seven more selections will be made over the next three weeks, including tonight on Cover2: Hawaii High School Football Weekly at 9:30 p.m. on KHON2.

Congratulations to the young man; but 7 players from one team is TOO Much for an all star game! There is enough talent around to spread the wealth to all schools.
Just another way to stop parents from transferring their kids to the top football schools..

Invite #23 Chayce Morgan from Nanakuli High School. The kid is relentless and has good football I.Q. Even though their team has a losing record, #23 did it all for them.
