Kapolei has another invited to Polynesian Bowl

Kapolei defensive lineman Aaron Faumui, who has also played on the offensive side of the ball this year, has been invited to the 2018 Polynesian Bowl.

Faumui, who is listed at 6-foot-3 and 285 pounds, won the Division II state title as a sophomore at Radford before transferring to a school in Utah his junior year.

He returned home for his senior season and has helped the Hurricanes give up seven points or less in three of five games this year.

Faumui is the third Hurricane invited to the game, joining defensive end Kukea Emmsley, a Boise State commit, and linebacker Rocky Savea.

Other players from Hawaii invited are Kamehameha defensive end Jonah Welch, Saint Louis safety Isaiah Tufaga, Punahou offensive lineman Alama Uluave, Kahuku defensive end Samson Reed, Waianae linebacker Kana’i Mauga and ‘Iolani receiver Justin Genovia.

Faumui, who has yet to commit to a school, has an offer sheet that includes Boise State, Fresno State, Hawaii, New Mexico, Utah State and Wisconsin.
