NOTES: ‘Iolani has won all five games in the series in the Prep Bowl and state championship eras, but it hasn’t faced Kaimuki since 2010. The Bulldogs haven’t played on Iolani’s field since 2008. The last time Kaimuki beat Iolani was 1972 at Honolulu Stadium. ‘Iolani hasn’t started a season 0-2 since 1981, 10 years before Wendell Look became the coach. Kaimuki has visited Hamada field twice and both times lost a close game, 11-8 and 41-40. Kaimuki can start 3-0 for the first time since 2011. Iolani’s Justin Genovia needs to average 95.2 yards in his last eight scheduled games to join the exclusive 2k receiving club. Iolani’s Tai-John Mizutani is 1,382 yards away from becoming the 15th member of the 6k passing club and he needs two more 300-plus efforts to tie Kiran Kepoo and Brian Ah Yat for the most in school history with four. Look will coach in his 310th game, second most all time behind Don Botelho (443). Ieke Seei-Cleveland of Kaimuki is second on Oahu with 324 rushing yards and has a gaudy 8.3 yards per attempt.

Man, I bet everyone thought Iolani would get lit up against Kaimuki, especially after their recent beating from a very potent Hilo team a few weeks ago at Kozuki Stadium.
Props to the Raiders for a very impressive win over a very physical and talented Bulldog squad.

I tell you this, it must have been a very miserable existence for the assistant coaches and players after that butt whooping from Hilo. it was probably hell every day at practice, film review, and they probably tried their best to avoid wendell during the school day. good ol fashioned fear, and look they did well against a good kaimuki team. nice to see old school is still alive.
