National Football League TV analyst and former quarterback Trent Dilfer is singing the praises of former Saint Louis all-state QB Tua Tagovailoa.
In a story Thursday on AL.com, Dilfer talked about his stint as an Elite 11 coach, remarking on Tagovailoa’s ability to learn quickly.
Dilfer said Tagovailoa “throws it better than Aaron Rodgers threw it as a sophomore at Cal Berkeley. … probably the most gifted passer I’ve seen at this age. … the most coachable kid that I’ve ever coached.”
Dilfer’s comments were made to Tide 102.9.
Tua Man…..
Good for him…wasnt a fan bout him going to bama but his determination & skill keeps showing all that he’s a contender (and soon to be starter). Awesome job, Tua!
1st: Tua was one of the best HS QBs in the land…if not the best…last year. I am a fan.
2nd: College FB is a whole ‘nother level…especially the SEC. I have no doubt of his drive and I will cheer for him…but my cheering and his drive may not = success at the college level. Hoping for the best here. He represents a huge boost for visibility of Hawaii HS sports.
3rd: It’s Trent Dilfer…who wasn’t exactly the most prolific QB in the NFL. He had great success in college…but that was vs defense-LESS WAC teams. Grain of salt…
@ Too Meke, Trent Dilfer is one of the most respected NFL analysts when it comes down to breaking down game film, making game and player analysis.
How does Trent Dilfer’s ability to play the QB in the NFL affect his ability to critique a football player?
You do know that many scouts/GM’s/coaches in the NFL hold Trent Dilfer’s opinions in very high regards right?
@TooMeke
Trent Dilfer is basically the Jon Gruden of college football QBs…
