Sami Saribay (Lahainaluna) vs. Taylia Lee (Hilo), Fall :36
Kennedy Javier (Mililani) vs. Brianna Leong (Leilehua), Fall 1:32
Notes: Chaves is the rare girl going for her fourth state medal, finishing fifth the last two years and sixth as a freshman. That quarter of the bracket is tough, with Higa going for her third state medal (third last year and fourth in 2015) and Hoshino going for her third as well (fourth last year, state champ in 2015).Mai was third in this weight class last year, finishing ahead of Chaves. Kawamura, the ILH champ, was sixth at 107 last year. Leong rules her quad as the only state placer, finishing fifth at 102 in 2015.

Kailin Ito (Hawaii Baptist) vs. Kaya Akana (Waimea), Fall :23
Francis Reverio-Harris (Kahuku) vs. Ashley Gooman (Kamehameha), Fall 1:42
Notes: Navarro is the reigning state champion in the weight class and is going for her fourth state medal after finishing third as a freshman and sophomore. Jordyn Kahaanui (Kailua) vs. Alana Dickens (Konawaena), Fall 1:18
Niya Matutino (King Kekaulike) vs. Jordan Branco (Waiakea), 6-4
Shantelle Mangrobang (Leilehua) vs. Reiko Ramirez (Mid-Pacific), Fall 5:54
Charlotte Taylor (Keaau) vs. Charity Curran (Campbell), 6-4
Jessica Sawai (Punahou) vs. Tiare Ikei (Kaiser), 16-0
Robyn Yim (Iolani) vs. Makana Cooper (Pearl City), Fall 5:02
Chirika Manibusan (Waianae) vs. Alexis Encinas (Lahainaluna), Fall 1:57
Notes: Higa is the defending state champion in the weight class and a two time medalist after finishing sixth the year before. She is the only medalist on her side of the bracket but there are plenty on the other side. Taylor finished fourth in the bracket last year and Ikei made the state final at 102. Encinas is a two-time state finalist and three-time state medalist, being pinned by Higa in last year’s penultimate battle after beating Mikayla Abe for the 2015 state crown. She was fifth as a freshman at 101 pounds.
Quarterfinals
Higa vs. Dickens, Fall 1:25
Branco vs. Ramirez, Fall 1:51

Girls 117
First Round
Taryn Ichimura (Punahou) vs. Christina Choi (McKinley), Fall 1:29
Kira Borengasser (Moanalua) vs. Keeya Bicoy (Molokai), Fall 3:05
Jaelynn Miner (Nanakuli) vs. Rhea Michelle Gambeng (Kailua), Fall :25
Yuting He (Roosevelt) vs. Kaua Albino-Kaupu (KS-Hawaii), 6-4
Allie Mahoe (Kapolei) vs. Mariah Spix (Leilehua), Fall 4:56
Roby Jordan (Konawaena) vs. Alexis-Nova Posiulai (Kamehameha), Fall :51
Taryn Bonham (Hawaii Prep) vs. Alexis Gibbs (Damien), Fall :30
Katie Reyes (Waianae) vs. Nanea Estrella (Lahainaluna), Fall 4:40
Notes: Ichimura is a two-time state placer, taking third at 112 last year and reaching the final before losing to Lahainaluna’s Diamond Freitas in 2015. Her biggest threat before the semifinals could come from He, who finished sixth in this weight class last year but has a tough first round match against Albino-Kaupu, who was sixth at 112 pounds last year. Mahoe was third in states last year and fourth the year before and is the most experienced girl on her side of the bracket as the only one with a state medal.
Quarterfinals
Ichimura vs. Borengasser, Fall 3:57
Miner vs. He, Fall 3:13
Mahoe vs. Posiulai, 6-2
Gibbs vs. Estrella, Fall 3:58

Girls 122
First Round
Mikayla Abe (Pearl City) vs. Annalyn Miner (Nanakuli), 10-0
Anna Malia Santos (Kapolei) vs. Kelsey Kimura (Iolani), Fall 1:04
Waipulani Estrella-Beauchamp (Baldwin) vs. Jaycee Ichimura (Punahou), Fall :35
Megan Mena (Roosevelt) vs. Danakai Reilly-Gober (Keaau), 5-2
Laynee Pasion (St. Francis) vs. Amber-Jade Nagatani (Waipahu), Fall :47
Chevelle Bertlemann (KS-Hawaii) vs. Hanna Kannys (Kaiser), Fall 3:26
Ilima Kepano-Ferreira (Keaau) vs. Czarina Pineda-Abaya (Kalani), Fall 1:18
Ravanere Tehotu (Kapolei) vs. Ashley Taguiam (Lahainaluna), Fall 4:30
Notes: Abe, the top seed, will be looking for some serious redemption this year after reaching the state final the last two years but losing both times. She fell to Iverly Navarro last year and Alexis Encinas the year before but both Lunas have moved on to other weight classes. She is the only girl on her side of the bracket with a state medal, so another state final appearance looms. Pasion was third at 127 pounds last year and could run into Kannys, who was fifth at 117 pounds last year, in the second round. Pineda-Abaya drew a tough seed but could come out of her bracket, she has finished fourth at 117 the last two years and the No. 2 seed as the MIL champ, Taguiam, has never won a medal on this stage.
CORRECTION: After an initial posting mistake, Taguiam indeed won.
Quarterfinals
Abe vs. Kimura, Fall 1:56
Estrella-Beauchamp vs. Reilly-Gober, Fall 2:57
Pasion vs. Kannys, 7-5
Pineda-Abaya vs. Taguiam, 7-4
Semifinals
(1) Mikayla Abe (Pearl City) vs. (5) Waipulani Estrella-Beauchamp (Baldwin)

Girls 127
First Round
Jahnea Miguel (Baldwin) vs. Jahnesia Edwards (Kapolei), Fall 1:34
Faith-Joy Okubo (Moanalua) vs. Berri Lagmay (Keaau), Fall 1:10
Chanel Hunter (Pearl City) vs. Alexandria Nelson (Roosevelt), 3-2
Denise Ader (Farrington) vs. Paige Respicio (Kamehameha), Fall 4:55
Kasey Pule (KS-Hawaii) vs. Sadie Antoque (Castle), 8-4
Cheung Cheng-Leever (Punahou) vs. Alyssa Fusato (King Kekaulike), Fall 1:06
Kayla O’Sullivan (Maryknoll) vs. Shanayah Marshall (Kapaa), Fall 1:51
Destinee Ader (Farrington) vs. Anuhea Hamilton (Waianae), Fall 1:03
Notes: Miguel will get a test in the second round of her first state tournament with Okubo, who was fourth in state at this weight class last year, looming. Get past her, though, and nobody else has a state medal unless she meets Hamilton in the final. Hamilton went to the state final last year but lost to Aisa Evans and was fifth in state the year prior.
Quarterfinals
Miguel vs. Okubo, Fall 3:28
Nelson vs. Respicio, Fall 1:46
Antoque vs. Fusato, 25-20
Marshall vs. Hamilton, Fall :43
Semifinals
(1) Jahnea Miguel (Baldwin) vs. (4) Paige Respicio (Kamehameha)

Girls 132
First Round
Teniya Alo (Kahuku) vs. Jaden Rivera (King Kekaulike), Fall :34
Lana Perez (Moanalua) vs. Waihulakapu Kahookaulana (Keeau), Fall 2:37
Kelsey Lee Bicoy-Juario (Molokai) vs. Kanani Chan (KS-Hawaii), Fall 1:28
Ariez Igafo (Castle) vs. Charlize Jasmine Pascual-Tabuyo (Mid-Pacific), Fall :43
Gionne Aniban-Morse (Keaau) vs. Kaylee Okada-Wagner (Kapolei), Fall 4:24
Jenna Awana (Waianae) vs. Roselani Ikei (Kaiser), 11-7
Sunni Chow (Kamehameha) vs. Heavenli Sardinha (Campbell), 5-3
Cierra Columbini (Waipahu) vs. Taylor Pelegrino-Hayase (Lahainaluna), Fall :42
Notes: This is Alo’s world. She finished third last year for Iolani despite an injury and won the state title at 122 as a freshman, rolling through the bracket. Alo went through this season determined to find the most challenging bracket but seems to have run into the same problem that plagued her sister, a ghost town. She won’t run into a girl with a state medal until the second round if Bicoy Juario, who was sixth last year but lost in the first round to avoid Teshya Alo, beats Chan. She is the only state medalist on Alo’s side of the bracket. The other side features Kaiser’s Roselani Ikei, who was fifth last year and beat Chow in the final match. Pelegrino-Hayase is the second seed after taking fifth last year.
Quarterfinals
Alo vs. Perez, Fall :50
Bicoy-Juario vs. Pascual-Tabuyo, 22-5
Aniban-Morse vs. Ikei, Fall 3:50
Chow vs. Pelegrino-Hayase, Fall 1:57
Semifinals
(1) Teniya Alo (Kahuku) vs. (4) Charlize Jasmine Pascual-Tabuyo (Mid-Pacific)

Asialynn Fernandes (Pearl City) vs. Taye Mowat (Molokai), 5-4
Iwikehaukalewa Kinimaka (Campbell) vs. Halle Sakai (Kauai), Fall 2:24
Kamakana Hernandez-Waialae (Kapolei) vs. Isabelle Tayo (Keaau), 10-7
Cassandra Tongi (Kahuku) vs. Skyla Clarke (Waipahu), Fall 1:01
Jorjah Losalio-Watson (Konawaena) vs. Lainey Sanborn (Sacred Hearts), Fall 1:11
Jaynah Dias (KS-Hawaii) vs. Ursula Nichols (Punahou), Fall :38
Rebekah Garcia (Moanalua) vs. Kauanoe Keahi (Lahainaluna), 15-3
Notes: Vierra moved up to 127 last year and finished fifth after taking third at 117 the year before but seems to have found a good bracket this time. She is the only one on her side with a state medal, and she has two of them. Keahi has the same setup, the sixth-place finisher at 138 a year ago is the only medalist on the other side.
Quarterfinals
Vierra vs. Fernandes, Fall 4:30
Kinimaka vs. Hernandez-Waialae, Fall :54
Tongi vs. Sanborn, 8-4
Dias vs. Keahi, Fall 2:29

Keeana Popejoy-Kanamu (King Kekaulike) vs. Jaeden Guerrero (Damien), Fall 1:04
Jennifer Tongi (Kahuku) vs. Asinalu Holika (Hilo), Fall 5:02
Iwa Worthington (Assets) vs. Kasiane Kawai-Jose (Kapolei), Fall 2:21
Anne Roth (Waiakea) vs. Kaleinani Makuaole (Waianae), Fall 1:51
Chynasty Acia (Keeau) vs. Nina Seoane (Pearl City), Fall 2:17
Kira Jhun (Moanalua) vs. Shannon Jaramillo (Lahainaluna), 8-6
Notes: Just as Alo owns 132, Peralta owns 145. Peralta is the defending state champ here and is going for her fourth medal after taking second in 2015 and third as a freshman. There are no state medalists on her side of the bracket but the other side contains Pearl City’s Nina Seoane, who was fifth at 155 last year. Jhun and Jaramillo have never placed at states, but they have big names. Peralta’s last loss at states came to Carly Jaramillo in the 2015 final.
Quarterfinals
Peralta vs. Kealanahele, Fall :38
Popejoy-Kanamu vs. Tongi, 6-2
Kawai-Jose vs. Makuaole, 7-1

Girls 155
First Round
Kelani Corbett (Leilehua) vs. Kitana Lowery (Hilo), 20-4
Katherine Heim (Kaiser) vs. Tianna Avanila (Keaau), Fall :55
Kahiau Freitas (Kamehameha) vs. Shamma Nakama (Waiakea), Fall :56
Tiana Peterson (Kapolei) vs. Jaydin Hue Sing-Ammasi (Baldwin), 15-9
Tara Labanon (Damien) vs. Jakelynn Poki (Waipahu), 7-2
Jolette Miner-Ho (Kapaa) vs. Jacqueline Fuamatu (Pearl City), Fall :22
Brianna Rivera (Campbell) vs. Patricia Ching (Moanalua), Fall 5:09
Saelor Taumua (Farrington) vs. Kayla Araki (KS-Hawaii), Fall :36
Notes: Corbett came from out of nowhere to win this class last year, but she is not sneaking up on anyone this time. The only girl with a state medal on her side of the bracket is Peterson, who was fifth last year at 184 pounds. There is some serious experience on the other side, though, with Fuamatu (fifth two years in a row) and four-time BIIF champ Araki, who has finished third two years in a row in brackets topped by Angela Peralta and Teshya Alo.
Quarterfinals
Corbett vs. Avanila, Fall 2:49
Freitas vs. Peterson, Fall 6:13
Labanon vs. Fuamatu, Fall 1:26
Ching vs. Araki, Fall :26
Semifinals
(1) Kelani Corbett (Leilehua) vs. Tiana Peterson (Kapolei)

Girls 168
First Round
Saydie Kala (Baldwin) vs. Zyann Pavao (Waiakea), Fall :18
Alexis Tupuola (Moanalua) vs. Leiohu Tong (KS-Hawaii), 8-5
Kapoina Bailey (Konawaena) vs. Luana Kanongataa (Kahuku), 9-6
Destiny Sakaguchi-Brown (Kaiser) vs. Chynna Ancheta (Mid-Pacific), Fall 1:32
Michelle Tanuvasa (Pearl City) vs. Angel Basa (Mililani), Fall 2:26
Kyara Velez (Leilehua) vs. Ailani Lanoza (Lahainaluna), 4-3
Tehani Tanele (Damien) vs. Kahula Coleman (Roosevelt), Fall 1:06
Mele Pamela Lua (Castle) vs. Ivory Ayers (Kea’au), Fall :32
Notes: Kala is a worthy top seed here, she was third last year and fourth the year before and trying to become Baldwin’s first state champ since Kailee Andrade in 2008. There are no past medalists on her side of the bracket, so she might be set up for her first state final. And it could come against Ayers, who is the only state medalist on the other side. Ayers was sixth at state last year after taking fourth the year before. Strange things happen in this weight class, though, there hasnt been a repeat winner since Darcie Manning O’Brien in 2011-12.
Quarterfinals
Kala vs. Tupuola, Fall 1:56
Bailey vs. Sakaguchi-Brown, Fall 4:41
Tanuvasa vs. Lanoza, 7-6
Coleman vs. Ayers, Fall 3:53
Semifinals
(1) Saydie Kala (Baldwin) vs. (8) Kapoina Bailey (Konawaena)
(3) Michelle Tanuvasa (Pearl City) vs. (2) Ivory Ayers (Kea’au)
*********
Girls 184 Jaye Lee-Kaiwi (Baldwin) vs. Poerani Madriaga (KS-Hawaii), Fall 1:32 Maimiti Otari (Kea) Mahealani Ramirez (Aiea) vs. Kiara Tuimalu (Campbell), 6-0 Notes: Fuamatu made the state final last year, only to lose to Molokai’s Cendall Manley, giving her a wealth of state experience against a field that contains no other state medalists and she gets a bye to go with it.
Quarterfinals Semifinals *********
Girls 225 Olivia Mataele (Pearl City) Celine Gomes (Baldwin) Kania Faletoi (McKinley) vs. Taysia Quintal (Kea’au), Fall 3:17 Notes: With Lalelei Mataafa off to UH, it is time for the girls she beat up for so many years to go for a title. Umu is the top seed after taking fourth last year and following it up with a BIIF crown. She gets the top seed because Keopuhiwa failed to win the OIA this year. Keopuhiwa is going for her fourth state medal, finishing third last year. She dropped down to 184 and finished fourth as a sophomore after taking fifth at 220 as a freshman. There are no state medalists on the other side of the bracket, clearing the way for Fotu to reach the final and possibly become Farrington’s first state champ since Taylor Ibera in 2009. Quarterfinals Semifinals
