Tynanes gets some work in

Not a lot to see last week in the OIA, except for Campbell’s Micah Tynanes staying sharp, Jayson Pagurayan of Kapolei keeping busy while other wrestlers rest and Trison Santos of Campbell rounding into form at 126 pounds.

Here are last week’s OIA results:

106: Triston Baron of Roosevelt beat Farrington’s Leonardo Nunez twice, once by fall and the other by 16-7 major decision.
113: Hunter Nagatani of Waipahu and Troy Weilbacher of Waianae matched up twice, with Nagatani winning 15-6 and 8-1. Kapolei’s Andre Pagurayan pinned Joseph Anzaldua twice. Kapolei’s Richard Xu and Ryan Nosaka of Kalani matched up three times, with Xu winning the first 15-11, Nosaka evening it with a 19-4 technical fall in the second and Xu sticking him in the third. Mililani’s Mitchell Funasaki and Jodylynn Dominia wrestled three times, with Funasaki winning twice including a pin in the last match.
120: Kapolei’s Jayson Pagurayan kept busy, pinning one opponent and winning the other by 18-3 technical fall before beating Leilehua’s Isaac Stalcup 6-3. Waipahu’s Elani Nagatani got three matches and won them all, giving him first place over Moanalua’s Logan Garcia. Garcia won both of his matches by fall but did not get to face Nagatani.
126: Waianae’s Steven Reyes won both his matches by pin. Rylen Kuroiwa of Kaiser won both his matches as well. Grant Kawasaki of Aiea beat Kalani’s Kahlil Portugal twice, once by pin and the other by 23-14 major decision. Leilehua’s Kaena Desantos won both of his matches, but they were both close. Cambell state champion Triston Santos won both of his matches, including a big 9-3 win over Mililani’s Casey Nitta.
132: Campbell’s Zayren Terukina won both of his matches, the first by pin and the second 9-2. Jhael Jose of Leilehua went 3-0 with a pin and two major decisions. Chavison Kalamau of Waianae swept his matches, winning 12-5 and 15-6. Christian Tavares of Radford responded to being pinned by beating Mililani Elijah Diamond 8-3.
138: Waianae’s Ke’ale Keliinoi faced Quan Lac of McKinley three times, pinning him twice and winning the middle match by technical fall 18-3. Kapolei’s Jacob Yamaguchi won all three of his matches with Keonekealoha Fatiaki of Farrington giving him the biggest rub with a 6-5 score. Radford’s Ryan Wahl won both his matches, but was pushed to a 4-3 score by Steven Pangelinan of Campbell. Mililani’s Hunter Aiu won both of his matches, including a pin of Campbell’s Kong-Mong Vang.
145: Waipahu’s Kaimiana Tampos won all three of his matches, Zhachary Carreiro of Waianae gave him the closes match at 6-1. Benjamin Mina of Kapolei faced Leilehua’s Tyler Gonzales three times, winning 5-2 and 9-5 but getting stuck for a pin in the second match. Julius Severs of Radford beat Waialua’s Donavan Rego twice, 9-4 and 7-5.
152: Nicholas Mair of Kaiser won all three of his matches, two of them by pin and the other by a 7-2 score. Darien Mole of Kailua pinned both of his opponents. Rysen Leong of Kalaheo went 2-0, the last one when Kahuku’s Stialeki Tongi was disqualified.
160: Aiea’s Brandon Burgos is still cruising, going 2-0 with an 18-6 major decision over Jerry Garcia of Farrington. Tyson Creekmur of Kaiser got two matches, winning one by pin and the other 8-3. Gabriel Contreras of Radford won both of this matches, one of them by pin and the other by major decision. Kawena Esperas of Castle won both his matches, one by pin and the other 9-3.
170: Pearl City’s Kasey Kikuyama and Daniel Ochoa of McKinley were in the same bracket, but they didn’t appear to wrestle. Leilehua’s Eric Taua only got one match, but won it with a pin over Kalani’s Christopher Hippach. Campbell’s Noah Respicio won both his matches, the toughest one an 8-3 win over Micah Wong-Lau of Kahuku.
182: Felix Dellatan of Waianae won both his matches, but was pushed to a 3-2 score by Nanakuli’s Miguel Malano. Moanalua’s Aaron Bito won both his matches, one of them with a pin and the other with a 16-1 technical fall. Leilehua’s Brett Barefoot pinned his first two opponents before beating Kailua’s Gabriel Lelesch 7-6. Campbell’s Alize Wright was lucky enough to get three matches, winning all three of them including an 8-1 win over Kahuku’s Gage Whitehead.
195: Damien Agao Casabar of Moanalua matched up with Atiui Valu of Waianae twice, beating him 11-5 the first time and 5-1 the second. Reginald Faamatau of Farrington, Kyle Vereze-Eligo of Farrington and Kapolei’s Fagatogo Sotoa split their matches, but Faamatau’s win over Eligio was by forfeit. Leilehua’s Rustin Worley earned a pin in the only match he wrestled. Kason Latu of Kahuku beat Mililani’s Tayden Sua twice, 4-1 and 5-3.
220: Micah Tynanes of Campbell wrestled Isley Busch-Matuu of Castle twice, pinning him both times. Laulii Iosefa won both his matches, the first with a pin and the second a narrow 2-0 score over Pearl City’s Nicolas Puchert.
285: Gerri Jenks of Waianae won both of his matches by pin, the same as Pearl City’s Paulsson Solomon. Jonah Caminos-Fretas beat Ben Liko of Roosevelt twice, 7-5 and 3-0. Lennox Alo of Kahuku and Radford’s Enrique Escoto hooked up twice, with Alo winning both by pin.
