It took a while for the paperwork to go through, but former Hawaii star quarterback Colt Brennan is now the quarterbacks coach at Moanalua, athletic director Joel Kawachi told Hawaii Prep World on Wednesday.

On March 16, there were reports that Brennan was hired by Na Menehune as an assistant under new head coach Savaii Eselu. The report was premature because his hire hadn’t been officially OK’d by the Department of Education.

Brennan, the former Heisman Trophy candidate who led the Rainbow Warriors to the 2008 Sugar Bowl, was an assistant at Kahuku a few seasons ago. He is in California with his family, and it is not known when he will join Eselu and Na Menehune on the field for spring drills.

Glad to hear your back in football Colt. . .I wish in the near future that Current Warrior football coach Nick Rolovich will find a position for you in his staff.

What is Colt Brennan doing for a living now?
I think he was a part-time volunteer coach at Kahuku High. Not a full-time paid coach.

Wow, what an embarrassing fall from grace. Bruddah has been cut or released in so many leagues it’s pathetic. Now he’s coaching kids???? Lol what a loser.

It’s not the fact that he got cut, he had his career cut short due to a brain injury from a car accident. He was told to not risk actually playing football again.

From Colt’s experience, I think the Heisman and the NFL work with Big Name Colleges in promoting and keeping those graduates on their active roster. If talent comes from unknown colleges like the U.H. then Big Name Colleges will not be able to attract talent. Colt came from Saddleback college and for all his accolades, he wasn’t kept active. The same with Rolovich, and Lele. That’s how things work in this country, they give you some so so talent, tell you that they are great and after a while you’ll come to believe it. Sad isn’t it!
