ILH tiebreaker games at one site

The Interscholastic League of Honolulu has announced that the boys basketball tiebreaker playoffs will be held at Kamehameha’s Kekuhaupio Gymnasium on Saturday.

The four teams involved will play a doubleheader with the winners advancing to the tiebreaker final on Monday, no site announced yet.

On Saturday, ‘Iolani and Punahou will meet in a 5 p.m. tip-off, followed by Kamehameha and Saint Louis at around 6:30 p.m.

All four teams finished the regular season with 6-4 records. The regular-season winner, which will be determined on Monday, will earn an automatic state-tournament berth.

The tiebreaker games have no affect on the ensuing ILH playoff tourney except this: to help determine the seedings.

The ILH playoff tournament will follow, starting on Tuesday, with one more state-tournament berth to be awarded by the end of the week. Fifth-place Maryknoll and sixth-place Mid-Pacific will play undetermined opponents in Tuesday’s first round.
