Kahuku rises 203 spots in MaxPreps rankings

No. 3 Kahuku has a good chance to move up to No. 2 in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s Top 10 when the new rankings are released Monday afternoon, but the Red Raiders (9-0) are already No. 2 in Hawaii in the MaxPreps national computer rankings released Sunday.

Kahuku defeated Kapolei 56-10 in the OIA Division I quarterfinals on Saturday and moved up 203 spots to No. 133 in the national rankings.

No. 2 Saint Louis (7-1) rose 48 spots to No. 148 nationally after its 30-14 win over No. 1 Punahou. The Crusaders are likely to move up to No. 1 in the Star-Advertiser poll Tuesday.


MaxPreps dropped the Buffanblu (8-1) 35 spots to No. 163.


No. 4 Mililani is still the top-ranked Hawaii team by MaxPreps. The Trojans rose two places to No. 117 nationally after a 48-13 OIA D-I quarterfinal win over Moanalua on Saturday.

    That’s a good one, here we go big red, here we go, well said. KAHUKU WILL BE STOPPED , BELEIVE ME, IF YOU THINK YOU CAN KEEP RUNNING THE BALL AND WIN, WAIANAE IS NOT TOUGH, THEY DIDN’T GET TO THE NITTY GRETTY GAMES YET. Kahuku will live and die by the run, cause they have no passing game.
