Championship game: Kamehameha 68, Farrington 57. Dyrbe Enos poured in 31 points, including four clutch free throws in the final 1:04, as the Warriors fought off the Governors.
Farrington trailed throughout the game, but cut the lead to 62-57 on Mikey Kleman’s hanging reverse layup with 2:25 remaining. The Warriors then hit six of their final eight free-throw attempts to ice the win and the title. Makoa Camanse-Stevens added 10 points for the Warriors.
Viane Vaina finished with 20 points and and 16 rebounds to pace Farrington. Kleman finished with 18, including seven in the final quarter.
End third quarter: Mikey Kleman’s 3-pointer at the buzzer cut the lead to 11 as the third quarter ended, but the Govs have no answer for Dyrbe Enos, who has 22 points already.
Halftime: Turnovers against Kamehameha’s sneaky double-team fullcourt pressure are killing the Governors, who are otherwise unstoppable with Viane Vaina down low (10 points) and swingman Mikey Kleman, who has seven points including a swooping fastbreak dunk.
End first quarter: Dyrbe Enos already has 15 points, including a 4-point play from the right corner. The Warriors are deep, long and athletic, and first-year head coach Julian Nakanishi is asking his players to do a lot of defensive work, which works.
Moanalua 60, Mid-Pacific 26 — Senior Shane Ratledge sparked an early 17-4 run as Na Menehune won the third-place game. Ratledge scored nine of his 13 points in the opening quarter. Alex Hutson led with 14 points and junior guard Kahanu Puulei-Auld added 10.
Brian Chung led the Owls with eight points and Brennan O’Connell added seven. Ryan Swanson chipped in five.
Baldwin 55, Leilehua 34 — Junior post Bradley Bowlin scored 16 points as the Bears pulled away in the fifth-place game.
Freshman Kody Takushi nailed three treys in the second quarter and the Bears’ man-to-man defense sparked a second-quarter rally. By the third quarter, Baldwin opened the lead to 20. The Bears led 44-27 entering the final quarter.
Takushi finished with 11 points and Gabriel Ross added nine.
Christian Manzo led the Mules with nine points. Larry Wheeler-Rutkowski and Troy Ross chipped in nine points each.
Pearl City 52, Radford 41 — Kainoa Perez worked the low post for 10 points as the Chargers’ won the seventh-place game. Mark Anthony Vilejo and Favian Moore scored seven points each for the host Rams. Jeromy Castro had a team-high 13 rebounds and Sean Spears added 10 caroms.
