Kalaheo sweeps titles at OIA East championship

Kalaheo swept the team titles at Saturday morning’s OIA Eastern Division cross country championship.

Kalaheo runners grabbed the top four spots to help the Mustangs win the boys team title with 20 points at Central Oahu Regional Park. Avery Torres was first in the 3-mile race in 17 minutes, 11.60 seconds. Colby Otero finished second in 17:45.22, followed by Gillaume Tabary in 18:00.70 and Louis Delcore in 18:15.55.

Kalaheo placed three girls in the top 10 as the Mustangs edged Moanalua 38 to 39 for the team title. Cassandra Frenzel was second in 20:23.36 and Emily McLemore was third in 21:15.95. Miyuu Handa placed seventh in 22:08.25. Kaiser’s Lisa Tashiro defended her title by winning the 3-mile race in 20:06.39.
