Mililani coach Rod York reported early Friday afternoon that running back Jalen Olomua is doing “great” and back home after being taken by ambulance to a hospital during Thursday night’s 71-28 victory over Farrington at Aloha Stadium.
“Thank God. X-rays were negative and he is home and will be back (to school and practice) on Monday,” York texted Hawaii Prep World. “It was precautionary.”
Olomua, a transfer this season from Kahuku, was hit in the back of the head by a Farrington player, apparently helmet to helmet, while going down during a rushing attempt in the second half. No infraction was called.
Olomua stayed down on the ground and received attention from trainers before an ambulance arrived.
Olomua, a 6-foot, 220-pound sophomore who also plays linebacker, rushed for 8 yards on two carries in the game and now has 66 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown this season.
Whewww…. glad to hear he’s okay and nothing serious. Don’t like to see our keiki’s get hurt… no matter what team or side of the field.
Hope for a speedy recovery nephew. Get well soon cause our rugby team needs their winger ready for the season. RR4L
Very happy to hear that he’s ok ! Good luck to you on your continued recovery
Good to hear he’s OK ! Good luck on his continued recovery
He’s another recruit for Mililani not a Transfer. The league needs to closely monitor Mililani for this practice. You have to wonder , how come all of a sudden ” Mililani ” has so many Polynesian players on their rooster ?
@ Sam.. now ain’t the time for that nonsense. Kid got hurt and praise God he’s able to play another down.
@sam he ain’t no recruit, boy had little to no playing time at kahuku so he made the decision to move school just as a lot of young athletes do when they don’t get the desired playing time
@bigredx….. um shows how much you know….. The starting RB on Kahuku’s jv last season…. took home the outstanding jv rb trophy, started the season at lb then switched over to rb… got hurt in semis and didn’t play in the championship against waianae. Kahuku ended up losing the jv championship, no running game.
@hiro; Dont forget the kid is the winger for the Kahuku rugby team.
@big redx; Your an idiot bro……
@88 ….. wow did not know that, @bigredx…. wit a name like tht You would know red raider football… or maybe u jus a red raider hater….. oh well, get ur facts straight. This kid on youtube “kahuku jv football 2014″…
Jalen you are a strong, brave, smart young man. Football is your passion don’t let anyone take that from you. Keep striving for the best and continue to wish the best onto others.
I admire his drive and love he has for the game along with his ability to take harsh criticism that comes his way from a young age and continue to hold his head up on the field. People don’t know half the struggles you went through in your past and they DON’T NEED TO!
BE KIND, BE FOCUSED, PLAY SMART, PLAY FOR GRANDMA. WE LOVE YOU
thank you lord for a speedy recovery.
