Eletise narrows list from 41 to 10

After months of being a prized prospect in the eyes of universities from Hawaii to the East Coast, Michael Eletise of Kaiser High School has narrowed his list of 41 BCS offers and one Division II offer to 10 schools.

His father, Nofo Eletise, texted the list on Sunday night. Eletise’s top 10 remaining choices are (in alphabetical order):

Arizona
Arizona State
Cal
LSU
Michigan
Nebraska
Oregon State
Ole Miss
UCLA
Washington

On Twitter, Eletise posted this along with his list early Sunday evening.

LSU was a late arrival to the party with an offer that came just one day ago. (Alabama made an offer this morning.)

Interestingly, four of the schools on his list are sites that Eletise made unofficial visits to in recent months: Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State and Washington.

Eletise was busy for the past three days at the GPA Maximum Exposure Camp held on the campus of the University of Hawaii. Dozens of coaches were in attendance and participated, including some from the 41 BCS schools that made offers to the 6-foot-4, 305-pound offensive lineman.

The Eletise family had expected to release Michael’s list a week ago, but held off. TCU and Wisconsin entered the fray just before Eletise’s self-made deadline, and in the week since, Texas, then LSU made their interest official with offers.

By paring the list of 41 FBS schools, as well as Division II Azusa Pacific, down to just 10, Eletise has given coaches the chance to free up valued scholarship offers to other prospects.
