A story on the University of Montana’s sports website introduced Moanalua outside hitter Lia Gaogao to the Grizzlies. She signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at the PIAA signing ceremony in Waikiki last month.

Gaogao is a two-time Honolulu Star-Advertiser Fab 15 choice, and she was named to the HHSAA state all-tournament team two years in a row.

The 5-foot-11 Gaogao is projected to compete at left-side hitter. She is the sister of Remo Gaogao, who was a standout at Punahou and now plays for Southern Utah.

Gaogao joins another Hawaii player on the Grizzlies’ roster, junior right-side hitter Michelle Robinson, who is a Mid-Pacific alumna.
