Punahou sophomore Lia Foster put on a show in her school’s pool on Friday, winning two events in an ILH meet.
Foster beat Mid-Pacific sensation Rebecca Walton by a wide margin in the 220 IM, clocking a time of 2:10.80 to the senior’s 2:16.00. Foster then took out another of Mid-Pacific’s fastest girls with a win over Lena Hayakawa in the 100 butterfly. Foster was credited with a time of 58.29 seconds to Hayakawa’s 58.60.
Hayakawa earned a win of her own, though, beating Punahou’s Maddie Balish in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.36.
Foster led off for Punahou in the 200 medley relay, but the favored Buffanblu were disqualifed. She was two seconds faster than anyone else on her leg.
Le Jardin win the event with a time of 2:02.70. Haley Masanas, Abigail Mitchell, Kiana McDonald and Clancy Doyle made up the team.
Foster was the only girl to win multiple individual events, but the boys had two of them.
Kamehameha’s Kanoa Kaleoaloha took the 100 butterfly in 51.81 seconds and the 100 back in 1:00.82. Punahou sophomore Aukai Lileikis won the 50 free in 21.10 and the 100 free in 45.66 seconds. He also contributed to Punahou’s win in the 200 free relay, swimming the anchor for Mykah Fujiwara, Greg Loui and Devin Sandoval.
