Who will move on to face Mililani next Friday for the OIA Red title? Farrington and Campbell meet in a rematch of a 2011 OIA Red semifinal won by the Govs, 27-24. Campbell quarterback Isaac Hurd came off the bench to throw for a touchdown and run for another before getting hurt in the fourth quarter. Campbell is trying to make states in Division I for the first time under coach Amosa Amosa.
Kickoff is set for approximately 7:55 p.m.
7:48 p.m.: Offensive starters for both teams announced. Farrington running back Sanele Lavatai is not named. CJ Liana and Manu Masalosalo listed as the starting backs for the Govs. Lavatai has rushed for 824 yards and 12 TDs this season. He injured his hamstring and had to leave last week’s game against Kapolei in the second quarter.
7:52 p.m.: Lavatai is on the sideline suited up to play.
7:58 p.m.: Campbell will receive the opening kickoff. Here we go.
8:03 p.m.: Campbell with a three-and-out as Hurd misses an open receiver on first down and then throws a bad pitch to the running back on third-and-3. Tre Boyd with a 22-yard return on the punt but a penalty brings it back. Boyd is shaken up on the play.
8:04 p.m.: Bryce Tatupu-Leopoldo starts at running back for Farrington.
8:12 p.m.: Lavatai in to start Farrington’s second drive and runs for 3 yards. Both teams punt on their first two drives. Campbell with 1 total yard after first two drives.
8:24 p.m.: First quarter is over after both teams combine for five punts. Farrington has 26 total yards. Campbell has nine.
8:26 p.m.: A 13-yard punt by Farrington gives Campbell the ball on the Farrington 38. This will be the first snap of the game in opposing territory and it comes with 11:05 left in the second quarter.
8:32 p.m.: A 21-yard pass from Hurd to Jayce Bantolina gives Campbell first-and-goal at the 1. Hurd stuffed on QB sneak and then sacked by Aaron Kesi, forcing third-and-goal from the 5. Campbell tries a reverse that goes for negative-15 yards and the 37-yard FG is no good.
8:51 p.m.: There’s your first big mistake of the game. Solomon Matautia fumbles a Farrington punt and Govs take over on Campbell 32 with 1:56 left.
8:54 p.m.: Waylen Lindsey sacks Montana Liana but is called for a personal foul. Ref says helmet-to-helmet. Didn’t look like it up here. Replays confirm. Bad call.
8:58 p.m.: Lindsey gets to Liana again, taking the Farrington QB down for another sack. That backs the Govs to the Campbell 33 with 33 seconds left.
9:05 p.m.: Wild ending to the first half. Farrington tries a 56-yard field goal but comes up well short. Abiel Taito returns the attempt to the Farrington 42. Hurd with a 20-yard run to the 22 but half runs out. Farrington called for a late hit which gives Campbell an untimed down. Campbell lines up for kick but referees huddle and say a dead-ball foul is enforced on the second-half kickoff. No untimed down. It’s halftime.
Halftime box score
RUSHING—Campbell: Austin May 4-29, Isaac Hurd 8-(minus 1), Galuega Castro 1-(minus 1), Keola Himan 1-(minus 15). Farrington: Sanele Lavatai 5-15, Bryce Tatupu-Leopoldo 2-14, CJ Liana 1-4, Manu Masalosalo 1-1, DJ Chaffin 1-(minus 6), Montana Liana 4-(minus 27).
PASSING—Campbell: Hurd 3-8-0-42. Farrington: M. Liana 9-19-0-60.
RECEIVING—Campbell: Jayce Bantolina 2-28. May 1-14. Farrington: Jacob Baguio 4-47, C. Liana 2-(minus 2), Jacob McEnroe 1-12, Chaffin 1-6, Tatupu-Leopoldo 1-(minus 3).
9:24 p.m.: Campbell kicks off from the Farrington 45 to start the second half.
9:30 p.m.: Farrington goes three-and-out and Campbell takes over on the Govs. 49. Pass from Hurd to Bantolina puts the ball at the Farrington 30 but Hurd and Austin May fumble the handoff. Farrington’s Aaron Kesi recovers.
9:38 p.m.: It’s unbelievable the difference Lavatai makes for the Governors offense. Lavatai had five carries in the entire first half but has six on one drive. Govs go 70 yards on nine plays as Lavatai scores on a 3-yard run to make it 7-0 with 5:17 left in the third quarter.
9:44 p.m.: Farrington LB Aaron Kesi is hurt on a play. Takes a good couple of minutes before he’s able to hobble off. Big loss for the Farrington D.
9:52 p.m.: Farrington fakes a punt on fourth-and-1 from its own 31 and picks up 2 yards. It worked, but not sure why I’d call that there.
9:54 p.m.: Solomon Matautia fields a punt after a couple of bounces and nearly breaks one for 80 yards and a TD but fumbles making a move. He goes to pick it up but trips over his own feet or else he may very well have been gone.
10:00 pm.: Campbell tries a fake punt on fourth-and-2 and its own 46 but Abiel Taito is stopped inches short. Liana is sacked by Trestan Ludiazo on the next play and fumbles but Farrington somehow recovers.
10:06 p.m.: Isaac Hurd scrambles for 22 yards for what I think is Campbell’s longest play from scrimmage in this game.
The Govs hold on to play Mililani next week. Farrington hasn’t won an OIA football championship since 1990. Lavatai finished with 79 yards on 20 carries. He wasn’t able to make it to the postgame handshake line. Instead he headed straight for the training table and was put on crutches.
Campbell had 105 total yards while Farrington had 170.

Go Govs. Pass vs run vs Mililani.
Go Govs and Red Raiders. Both teams with class. Mililani should be favored over the Govs boring offense but would not surprise me if the Govs shackle the Trojan’s offense.
GOVS all day every day!!!
tnx for the play by play Hull, but as for what you would do in certain situations………… no one cares, GO GOVS all day too bad haters ;(
