With All-State offensive player of the year Kainoa Carvalho out (ankle), Kahuku stepped up in a big-play way for a 41-6 win over Waianae.
Kaimana Carvalho opened the game with a 77-yard kickoff return, safety/wide receiver Brock Fonoimoana broke multiple tackles for a 60-yard TD and Clyde Taulapapa scored on a 41-yard TD run.
Kahuku is now 2-0, 1-0 in OIA Open Division play. Waianae is 1-1 (0-1 OIA Open).
Can’t wait to see what it looks like when Kahuku plays at its peak!
Can’t wait to see what will happen when Kahuku plays Bosco and Saint Mary, then we will see how good Kahuku really is. here in the OIA, no competition for Kahuku including Mililani.
Rebel Squad’s experience is a reality for The Red Raiders!
Im sorry , but kahuku will not be able to compete with basco nor Saint Mary’s. Both games will be blow outs. The speed is just too fast . And Kahuku’s offense will not score any points , 7 maybe 14 at the most . Kahukus offense can only look unstopple in hawaii. Im sorry but thats the real truth. Basco and St marys will put up 40-50 points + each. And yes , kahuku will spank everybody in the state this year . Hawaii football aint as strong as years past . Now when St louis had De Laura , those years , maybe a hawaii team could compete against these type of teams. Mililani and Punahou may give kahuku a game. We see.
I mean , the 6th best team in california stomped on Mililani without having any scrimmages , and thats with flying 3,000 miles and going sight seeing , eating , going beach , playing around lol. just beceause the score was 34-21 people think that it was close ? Cmon it was 20-0 first quater, Mission Viejo was playing with them after. Its hilarious .
Guys , lets face reality and get out of fantasy world. real people who knows real football knows kahuku doesnt even stand a chance.
I know , I know , lets have faith lol , but again lets face reality people.
Good enough to pounce the ILH at least
Laie Raider: we’ll see this State Tournament , oh, you do have Punahou in preseason, but by Nov. ILH will prove you wrong.
Looking forward to it
ILH – So Mililani isnt considered competition but they convincingly beat ILH champion St Louis? Kahuku destroyed kam so the only team you consider competition is punahou??? I’d give mililani a better shot against big red or any ILH team!!
Btw i wouldn’t put to much into kahuku playing the top two teams in the country, public school vs elite private programs? the outcome shouldn’t be a surprise. Unlike a few other teams (ILH) kahuku will play anyone Regardless of the outcome..👍🏽
Playing on the continent against these high ranked opponents will only make Kahuku better for play here, no matter what the score is. In the end, the only record that counts is the W-L column against ILH and OIA teams.
Kahuku, here comes Punahou
@californialove, Kahuku is going to compete no matter the score, nonetheless St John Bosco and St Frances are the #1 and #3 team in the nation for a reason. They have the best footballers in there state to play on one team. Those national games can only strengthen and approach all there weakness that Hawai’i teams can’t expose. But it also helps the Kahuku players have film against the top recruits in the nation. I see it as a win-win situation because Kahuku is benefiting from the competition and exposure and whatever the result of the game is, it doesn’t count.
