Nothing ever goes as planned, at least in these times.
The ILH showdown between four-time defending Open Division state champion Saint Louis and Punahou is on hold. The game was scheduled as the feature matchup on Friday at Aloha Stadium, but Billy Hull reported earlier today that the game will be rescheduled due to coronavirus protocols.
No new date has been announced yet by the ILH. Punahou was 1-0 after a 33-28 win over Kamehameha last weekend. Saint Louis (0-1) has not played a game in Hawaii yet this season.
very disappointed for the players and coaches.
I said in another post, stop thinking of “bridge”games and just think of the game on a week to week bacis. The ILH should stretch their games to every 2 weeks. The OIA will be worst, as students dont need a vaccine and may infect the student/athlete in the classroom environment. ILH was worried about them laying idle while the OIA season catches up in Dec. COVID dictates everything. Period. Think, week by week.
I heard there were 2 Punahou players with Covid19, too bad, hope there is a full season.
Eddie K said it best. Covid dictates everything. This may be the start of a lot of cancellations this season.
.Just sit the infected player & play the rest. I don’t see how 2-3 players test positive & you cancel the game when there are 50 other healthy players ready.
Covid is just the new Flu, everybody is going to get it sooner or later. If they are that scared just cancel the whole season so kids can move to the mainland to live their lives.
When a tourist on a plane test positive they quarantine the individual not the whole plane!
???, the rule is if your in the locker room, field, 6 ft
Distance over 15 minutes together, with a covid positive, you go 10 days quarantine. CDC rules. Covid Dictates Everything. Covid Kills. Covid took a U.S. President down.
^^^ By this definition, I would think that a lot of other high school students at Punahou should be in quarantine right now. The two football boys who tested positive were in classes, walking through hallways, eating lunch, hanging out with others during breaks, etc. I bet the school is conveniently overlooking that part.
Maybe you should check if the previous game with Punahou and Kamehameha had something to do with it….K athlete positive and parent knew….so is the rumor. Maybe.
