Football will help kick off the OIA fall sports schedule on the weekend of Oct. 15-16.
Billy Hull reported on Star-Advertiser breaking news that the league posted the fall schedules on the OIA site today. Girls volleyball will begin on Oct. 12.
The OIA football season will conclude with title games in Open Division (Dec. 10), Division I (Dec. 11) and D-II (Dec. 18).
That fits the time frame of the HHSAA state championships. The football state tournament is scheduled for late December and early January.

So the ILH will be ok waiting 2-3 months before the OIA finishes so they can have the state tourney?
OMG, EACH ILH TEAM WILL HAVE THEIR CHOICE IF THEY WANT TO PLAY AGAINST THE OIA, AND IT’S UP TO EACH OIA SCHOOL IF THEY WANT TO PLAY WITH WHAT ILH TEAM.
ILH, does that mean the ILH football season could potentially go from now until the end of December? Won’t that cause problems with other sports and state tournaments as well?
Good point. I’m not the ILH, of course, but the winter season is starting later on the HHSAA sports calendar. Example: boys basketball is starting roughly a month later than usual.
