No. 4 Kahuku at No. 3 Mililani in a heavyweight matchup of Open Division powerhouses. Both teams combined for just 221 yards in a defensive struggle, but Mililani came up with huge turnovers, as well as a big edge in the kicking game.

Wow has RED RAIDER NATION hit rock bottom?
Take away all those New transfers and we’re having a different conversation…Right? But, hey Big Props to Coach York and his staff…The score doesn’t reflect that it was closer than it was…Kahukus Defense did its job…But who ever the OC and Special teams Coach is ,needs to start attending some clinics , they look like
they just came up from Mighty Midgets…
When you have cal lee stealing as many players as he can from us and the refs ejecting our starters for no reason, it’s no surprise we lost
Good lesson. Plenty season left. Learn from this. I got Mililani at #2. Kahuku does not have any O but besides StL., no other team has a recruited LB crew like Mil. Props to York.
Great win Trojans! Way to keep and get players! Speaks highly of program as well as school!
When will the excuse of losing players to Stl or anyone else end?
Season is young, best of luck to all!
notes… ejecting them for no reason? Apparently you did not watch the game or replays.
Notes- Besides Mason Tufaga, who else is from
LAIE/KAHUKU side. Don’t count Kamoi Latu because he’s from Kapahulu. Don’t say Iona Purcell bc he’s from town and you can’t say oh his dad is from Laie. I’m just curious! Btw everybody is talking about recruiting, did you know that Jordan Bohtelo went to St. Louis for baseball, and so did Stanley Mckenzie. They weren’t recruited for football. Herbig followed is brother to St. Louis and nobody knew about him and how he played in Kauai. C’mon man. Need to get facts before running the loose lips. Good win for the Trojans but they better fix that so called high powered offense if they want any chance against the crusaders. They got by Campbell bc the OC failed to get the ball to Titus in the second half. And that’s just one receiver. St. Louis is stacked with recievers and mililani dbs are terrible. The front seven is what makes mililani dbs look better then average.
How does kahuku’s #75 get ejected and not Mililani’s #44? Both were engaged after the whistle.
One sided.
That entire incident didn’t seem fair.
To da hale, true #44, a new defensive recruit starter, was trying to drag and flip #75. Both hands holding his jersey. But I’m sure the films will show it. 86 that’s for the history lesson. Oh how about Welch?
Sterling has to choose if Kahuku is a running team a or passing team. What’s gonna be their identity and go from there! Notes-can’t worry about recruiting already. Everybody is doing it. Kids are transferring schools left and right.
idk how #44 not get ejected. guess u get special treatment if u play for mill didn’t seem fair at all
Enough with the transfers. We’ve been dealing with that issue for the last couple of decades, and yet we’ve persevered. We still have more than enough talent to win OIA’s and at the very least, give St Louis a good game. But there are lots of issues that need to be fixed to get that talent playing to a higher level. If not, then it’s another wasted season.
RRFL!!
Let it go about the transferring , it’s done all over the nation , y don’t you complain about all the HAWAII athletes going to colleges in the mainland rather than staying home ? Same concept. You want to do better , get recognized and do good , you go to a different program , plain and simple. Ya, at one point Kahuku was the has been, now they not the same. Kahuku people make like Kahuku supposed to be there in the big game every year. Ya you get ur seasons when ur good , and u have ur seasons when your down . It’s just the way it is.
Take away those mistakes on STeams and this is a different game.
STeams gave up points and field position.
Lets be honest, historically RR really won games by gaining great field position.
Normally from the defense causing turnovers or 3 and outs.
Short fields were the RR’s jam for years. Grind it, run the clock and let the defense eat resulted in championships.
Not so much this year. No short field and you behind so the formula dont work.
If they ever figure out the passing game theyll be even tougher to beat with the talent they have out there. Who is the QB Coach? Just curious.
Bring the elephant package back. Whens the last time a Kahuku QB or Receiver went D1 in those positions? Coaches fixing things that weren’t broken.
Sorry but the elephant package wont work no more lol. Thats why they are trying to pass but they dont know how. Nobody on that staff knows how to teach it lol. The little league pop warner offense , smash mouth football doesnt work anymore . Speed and quickness kills it. Thats why kahuku been struggling. The only football they know is to line straight up and go head to head. Thats it .
Some things have changed since then.
Opponents are equally athletic, just as big and have just as much studs as RR’s do.
So what do you do?
Does Sol Jay count?
Also, 4 different Head coaches in, I think, 6 years??
THAT, truly, is the problem.
During Yorks early days, he was told to beat Kahuku you need polys. Checked the community. No more. Check kalihi, yes. Halawa,yes.Waipahu,yes. Waianae, yes. Now no more Japanese on his team. Maybe 3 out of 90. Mililani oriental community. With Coach Millhouse, plenty oriental. Now last year jrs. transfer out of Mililani because “no MO room, brah” Auwe. So many underclass men in 2018 no show up on 2019 roster. Even Liam McGhee, last year’s kicker and now a senior not playing? Dam good kicker. Huh? Javar and York at Moanalua was suppose to start at Mill. Huh? Miller at Aiea. Huh. Coach Y not at Campbell game. Huh? What say ye the parents of Mililani community.
Hana Ukulele.
Dont you know? Its like Harry Potter when it comes to “He who shall not be named”.
Mililani QB need to get better… LUCKILY defense can cover his mess up on their offense…QB Agbayani need to show up this sat. against Farrington if not Coach York need to RECRUIT QB from other school for next year. Last 2 years Mililani have a VERY GOOD QB.
-86 have you watch them play? The Campbell game would of been a blowout if they pressured the quarterback in the 1st half and the only reason why they didnt get the ball to #1 because DB’s were playing him tough and not loose like the 1st half. I dont blame them for not throwing the ball to him while #3 was guarding him and he’s the same Kid who intercepted the ball 3x to finish them off in the semi last year. Without the front 7 playing good for mililani of course you can throw the ball to whoever and they will catch it everytime with no one pressuring the QB for Campbell.
-For STL they have a bunch of Wideout who will face a bunch bigger and faster LB’s and DB’s. So if you think the DB’s are still a joke think again. They still deep with DB’s and some of them are still injured.
Re: Kalani Falcon
I agree with you. Just look at the college level . The players will go what is best for them. Don’t judge them unless you know their situation.
@kalani falcons
It may seem like the same concept but you’re comparing apples to oranges.
High school players should be adhering to the OIA rules of playing in their respective districts, but colleges don’t have these rules so kids should go where they can strive in a program that best suits them.
Players shouldn’t be getting a DE just because of sports. I’m sure this wasn’t the intent of a DE.
@Comparison
do you hear yourself? Exactly Saint Louis, Punahou, Kamehameha dont have a district so they are welcome to have kids from any where on the island. DUH
