‘Iolani’s Elena Oglivie makes U.S. Girls Youth National Team roster

‘Iolani senior and two-time state player of the year Elena Oglivie is one of 12 players who have been selected to the U.S. Girls Youth National Team that will play in the FIVB Girls’ U18 World Championships in Cairo, Egypt, Sept. 5-14.

Oglivie is one of five hitters (outside and opposites) selected to the squad.

The Stanford commit is one of only three girls to make the team who didn’t win gold playing for the United States in the NORECA Girls’ U18 Continental Championship last year.


The final roster was announced today at the end of a 10-day training program involving 24 players.


Oglivie was named the Honolulu Star-Advertiser All-State player of the year last season as a junior after winning it as a freshman. She led the Raiders to a state championship with a state-final record 28 kills in a win over Kamehameha.

The PrepVolleyball.com national freshman of the year in 2016, Oglivie will enter her senior season with 1,407 career kills and 1,166 digs.

    Is the Ann Kang Invitational next week. Oglivie’s last year to play.

    Wow Gandhi Iolani knew Elena was great when she was 6th grade. What great insight on Iolani’s part. Stop the hating and get a life loser.
