Seven different football prospects from Hawaii committed to Division I schools in the last week, choosing to end the recruiting process early and enjoy the rest of the summer.
Arizona State became the third Pac-12 school to land a commitment from Hawaii as Kahuku’s Micah Soliai Howlett announced his commitment to the Sun Devils on Thursday.
Soliai Howlett, who is 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds, also had offers from Fresno State, Hawaii, Navy, Nevada, Syracuse and UNLV. He was named to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser All-State third team as a junior.

Arizona State signed Saint Louis offensive lineman Ben Scott in its most recent recruiting class. Wide receiver Tyerell Baldonado-Kaeiopu, a 2018 Kamehameha-Maui alumnus, redshirted in his first season with the Sun Devils.
Also committing Thursday was Konawaena’s Alex Muti, who will head to Brigham Young. The Cougars were the only offer so far for the 6-foot-3, 195-pound defensive end.

The surge in college commitments began Saturday when offensive lineman Faaope Laloulu, who will play his senior season at Farrington, pledged to Oregon.
Two days later, after making an official visit to Wisconsin, Saint Louis linebacker Nick Herbig committed to the Badgers.
California then picked up two commitments as Saint Louis defensive tackle Stanley Mckenzie and Mililani linebacker Muelu Iosefa committed to the Golden Bears within 24 hours of each other.
Offensive lineman Jake Tuatagaloa, another Trojan, committed to Hawaii on Monday.
Four of the top 10 prospects in Hawaii in the class of 2020 have already committed. Saint Louis receivers Roman Wilson and Matt Sykes, Kapolei offensive lineman Maceal Afaese, Punahou offensive lineman Solatoa Moeai, Mililani defensive lineman Shane Kady and defensive backs Alaka’i Gilman of Punahou and Kamo’i Latu of Saint Louis are some of the top uncommitted prospects remaining.
